The challenge
A 1962 side-split with books on every surface and a long, underused living room wall — out of level by 30mm end to end, with a baseboard heater to work around.
The solution
A nine-bay painted maple built-in, scribed to the ceiling line, with a ventilated cavity over the heater and integrated baseboard so the piece reads as original architecture.
The outcome
412 linear feet of shelving. Every book off the floor. The room the family now argues over.
